Dr Andrew Wilson reports that... Capital city home prices have continued to fall sharply over August with no sign yet of the usual pre-spring revival in activity. The national capital city median house price fell by 1.8% over the August quarter to $1,226,833 compared to the July quarter, according to the latest data from My Housing Market. National unit prices have also continued to decline over the August quarter compared to the July quarter, down by 1.1% to $706,226 – but have increased by 2.2% compared to the August quarter 2025 result. Although still falling, the unit market continues to outperform the house price market.
